Assistant Principal

William Tucker is the assistant principal of Hancock North Central Elementary. He earned a BA
in English at Concordia University, Irvine before moving to England where he earned a MA in
English at University College London, and a Ph.D. in English at Royal Holloway, University of
London. William then moved to Mississippi where he earned a MA in Teaching and an Ed.S. in
Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi.

Dr. Tucker taught English at the high school level for six years prior to enrolling in the
University of Mississippi’s Principal Corps program. He served as an administrative intern at
Hancock High School and Hancock North Central Elementary during the 2021-2022 school year.
As an administrator, he is committed to engaging in servant leadership in order to support
educational equity for all students by achieving the necessary conditions for promoting civic-
mindedness, social mobility, and the reduction of the achievement gap.

William lives in Ocean Springs with his wife Maia, his son Henry, and his cat Penny.
